Patti LaBelle is a singer, actress, and businesswoman from the United States. She began her career as the lead singer and frontwoman of the vocal group Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles in the early 1960s. LaBelle is known as the “Godmother of Soul.”

She has appeared in two Old Spice commercials as well as two Walmart commercials. LaBelle is the main character in the well-known web spoof Got 2B Real. “New Attitude” was released as a single late in 1984 and went on to become LaBelle’s first international hit. “Stir It Up” had similar success on pop radio and as a dance club staple. She signed with MCA Records after her contract with Philadelphia International expired.
