Parvati Shallow Cook Islands
Shallow debuted as a member of the Rarotonga (Raro) tribe, which included Adam Gentry, Jonathan Penner, Jessica “Flicka” Smith, and Candice Woodcock. Billy Garcia of the Aitutaki (Aitu) tribe informed Shallow and Woodcock that he was the next to go at the end of the second immunity challenge. Shallow was close to Gentry and Woodcock, who were romantically involved. When the four tribes were merged into two, Shallow and Gentry stayed in Raro while the rest of their tribemates were sent to Aitu. Despite having a larger population, the new Raro consistently lost in challenges.
Shallow pushed for the removal of J.P. Calderon, whom she considered arrogant, and despite his physical strength, he was the fourth person voted out. Shallow survived her tribe’s next three Tribal Councils, despite being voted out by Calderon, Stephannie Favor, and Cristina Coria. When the contestants were reduced to 12, a “Mutiny” twist was introduced in which anyone could switch tribes, and Shallow’s former tribemates Penner and Woodcock decided to rejoin Raro.
Shallow remained true to her Raro tribemates and won two reward challenges. She found herself in the minority at the merge after Penner betrayed his former tribe mates and joined the Aitu Four. She became enraged and cut her thumb with a machete while cutting a coconut. Shallow and Gentry were forced to fight for their lives after alliance member Woodcock was killed. To stay in the game, Gentry and Shallow approached Yul Kwon about voting Penner out first in exchange for their jury votes.
Shallow was voted out on day 36 by a 4-2 vote, citing her deception as a greater threat than Gentry’s physical strength. She was known for flirting with Gentry and sitting naked in a hot tub with Kwon and Lusth during a challenge reward.
Parvati Shallow Heroes vs. Villains
Shallow returned for a third season of Survivor as a member of the Villains tribe, where she formed an alliance with Russell Hantz and Danielle DiLorenzo. The Villains lost their immunity on day 18, and the alliance of Shallow, Hantz, and DiLorezo was still struggling to gain control of the game. They voted out Benjamin “Coach” Wade on day 21, and on day 24, they discovered the hidden immunity idol. On the 25th day, the Heroes and Villains merged into Yin Yang and relocated to the old Heroes camp. Shallow and Hantz concocted a story in which they both played their idols, nullifying all votes, and then eliminated Courtney Yates in the re-vote.
Shallow, not believing Kimmel’s warning, used both idols on Sandra Diaz-Twine and Manthey at Tribal Council, sending Thomas home with a 5-0 vote. Shallow was quickly alienated by the new tribe, forcing her to swear vengeance on all of the Heroes.
On day 33, Hantz abandoned his alliance and attempted, but failed, to pit Shallow and DiLorenzo against each other. He then joined the Heroes and decided to go after Shallow, but his plans were foiled when she gained immunity on day 36. On day 37, Shallow won her third challenge, and they voted the last Hero, Colby Donaldson, out of the game 4-1.
Shallow appeared to be voted out after failing to win the final immunity challenge, but she wanted to get rid of Diaz-Twine, believing she would receive a large number of votes in the end. However, the four remaining players voted Manthey out in a 3-1 vote; Hantz had expected to win Sole Survivor with her vote. Shallow finished second, receiving votes from fellow Villains Wade, DiLorenzo, and Manthey. She had played 114 days on Survivor by the end of Heroes vs. Villains, the most at the time.
