Liebermann, a veteran journalist, is in charge of covering the Department of Defense and matters linked to national security. Liebermann joined CNN in 2015 and served as the network’s Jerusalem reporter for the next six years. Liebermann met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu twice in the Middle East, as well as previous Prime Ministers Simon Peres and Ehud Barak. He covered four Israeli elections and watched as the Middle East changed as Gulf states mended relations with Israel. He also traveled to Russia, England, Serbia, and Nepal for his reporting.

Prior to joining CNN, Liebermann worked for CBS 3 in Philadelphia as a general assignment reporter.
