In the years that followed, he appeared in the dramas ‘The Bronx Is Burning’ and ‘Nip/Tuck.’ The actor starred in the comedy series ‘Bored to Death’ from 2009 until 2011. During this time, he also played the “Man in Black Suit” in the X-Men sequel ‘X-Men: First Class.’ In 2010, Platt was cast in the series ‘The Big C’ as Paul Jamison. Two years later, he co-starred in the comedy with Leighton Meester and Hugh Laurie.

In 2014, he had recurring roles on “Fargo” and “The Good Wife.” In 2015, he made his television debut as Dr. Daniel Charles in the drama series ‘Chicago.’ A year later, he played Dr. Perez in the supernatural horror film ‘The 9th Life of Louis Drax.’ In 2004, Oliver James Platt was cast as Russell Tupper in the television series ‘Huff.’ He received Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy nominations for his performance in the role, which he played until 2006. In 2005, he played the lard trader in Lasse Hallström’s romantic film ‘Casanova,’ in which he competed for Francesca’s hand in marriage with the title character.
