Waldau began her career as a singer and actor in the mid-1990s, appearing in a variety of stage productions. She appeared in a radio play as a Greenlandic woman in 1997. She made her film debut in 1998, playing Trommedanser in ‘Qaamarngup uummataa’ (‘Lysets hjerte’ in Danish and ‘Heart of Light’ in English) and Jóna in ‘Vildspor.’ She had to wait a few more years for her next role in a film, so she kept herself busy by singing. ‘Soorlumi Tigoqqusoq,’ her first single, was released in 2001. (The Beautiful Nature). It was released the same year as part of Melos Records’ compilation CD album titled ‘Various – Zedna.’

In 2004, she made her television debut as Shrine Olsen in the episode ‘Det strste offer’ of ‘Forsvar.’ She then took a three-year break before resuming her career in 2007. Meanwhile, in 2006, she joined the well-known Norwegian theater company Jo Strmgren Kompani, where she remained until 2008. In 2007, she returned to the big screen in the psychological drama film ‘Hvid nat’ (White Night), playing Camillas veninde. In the same year, she got her second television role as a journalist in four episodes of ‘Forbrydelsen’ (The Killing). In 2008, she appeared as the mother of one of the main characters, Sophie, in the Danish film ‘Himmerland.’

She toured the world with Jo Strmgren Kompani in the play “Polaroid.” She played Margrethe in the Danish drama film ‘Eksperimentet’ in 2010. (The Experiment). The following year, she joined Christoph Marthaler’s group in Switzerland as an actor and singer, and went on tour with them with the play ‘Plus Minus Nul.’ In her sixth film, ‘Scavengers,’ she played an airport information officer. It was followed by ‘Det gr guld’ (2013), in which she appeared as TV2 News Anchor. She also appeared in two episodes of the television series ‘Aftenshowet’ during this time. She joined Teater Solaris in September 2015 to star in the play ‘Brenden,’ giving an intense performance. The play premiered on October 30, 2015, to rave reviews. She joined the Greenland-based Inuit Theater Company in 2016, a relationship she has maintained to this day. In the same year, she appeared in an episode of the Danish television series ‘Ditte & Louise as herself. In March 2018, she joined Suluit, a Greenlandic band made up of several well-known artists, as a singer and songwriter. Later that month, she joined Yellow Bird Entertainment, a Swedish film and television production company, and has remained with both organizations to this day. She joined Saga film, Iceland’s leading production company, in January 2019.
