Storyline
Max, Isobel, and Michael awoke from their pods in 1997. They were adopted by the Evans couple at the group home, while Michael was placed in foster care. Max joined the Chaves County Sheriff’s Department after graduating from high school. He isn’t quite dead, despite dying from overusing his powers to resurrect Rosa Ortecho. Instead of being haunted by Max, she chose to drink alcohol instead and relapses. He eventually reveals himself to her and warns her not to let Liz bring him back to life.

Storyline
In January 2009, Ethan is introduced as a burglar attempting to break into the Haunted Star Casino. In October 2009, Ethan begins a flirtatious relationship with Kristina Corinthos-Davis, the daughter of mob boss Sonny Corinthos. Kristina rebuffs Ethan’s sexual advances in March 2010, and she blames Ethan for her boyfriend Kiefer Bauer’s beating of Kristina, making him a target for Sonny. In June 2009, he is revealed to be conspiring with Rebecca Shaw, a newly arrived lookalike of the deceased Emily Quartermaine, and to be romantically involved with her. After Tracy discovers their marriage was a ruse in November 2010, Luke begs Tracy to remarry him.
She tells him that she will only marry him if they sign a prenuptial agreement. Luke, on the other hand, asks if they can go to Las Vegas, where he intends to get her drunk and marry her. Reverend Grace is summoned to marry Luke and Tracy, but Maya and Ethan are instead married due to a mix-up.
