Natalie Bergman Wild Belle
She was let go from Nomo, but she and Elliot went on to establish the psychedelic pop combo Wild Belle. Elliot Bergman and Natalie Bergman are siblings that make up the American band Wild Belle. On November 26, 2012, they appeared on Conan. Columbia Records published their debut album, Isles, on March 12, 2013. They’ve already released three songs from the album: “Keep You” in February, “Backslider” in March, and “It’s Too Late” in April. Their song “Shine” was on the soundtrack of the 2013 film The Way, Way Back as well as in Grey’s Anatomy season 9, episode 13.
Their song “Keep You” was included in the film “Pitch Perfect” as well as the third episode of “The Vampire Diaries” season 4. Wild Belle collaborated with Diplo and DJEMBA DJEMBA in 2015 to compose “Be Together,” the opening single on Major Lazer’s third album Peace Is the Mission. The song is about a possible yet unlikely romance. The video for “Be Together” features a funeral for a widow and her lover, with flashbacks to the day he died in a motorbike accident.
Natalie Bergman Career
Bergman began her career in New York as a member of her brother Elliot’s band Nomo, contributing vocals to the Nomo and Shawn Lee track “Upside Down” in 2011. She was let go from Nomo, but she and Elliot went on to establish the psychedelic pop combo Wild Belle. Wild Belle has three studio albums to her credit: Isles (2013), Dreamland (2016), and Everybody One of a Kind (2019).
Bergman’s father and stepmother were murdered in a vehicle accident in 2019 by a drunk driver. Bergman then went on a quiet retreat for a week at The Monastery of Christ in the Desert in Chama Valley, New Mexico. Mercy, the ensuing gospel-folk album, is a meditation on the tragedy as well as Bergman’s personal faith.
Her debut solo album was recorded in her brother Elliot’s home studio in Los Angeles. She released two tracks with Beck in July 2021: a version of Lion’s 1975 soul classic “You’ve Got a Woman” and Beck’s remix of Mercy’s “Paint the Rain.”
She published the EP Live at Electric Lady on Spotify on September 30, 2021, as part of a series of live concerts at Electric Lady Studios. It includes seven tracks from her debut album Mercy as well as a version of Jimi Hendrix’s “Angel.” Keep Those Teardrops From Falling, her four-song EP, was released on November 5, 2021.
