Guppy is an American actor and television personality from Seattle, Washington, United States. Years (1984 – 1999). Guppy grew up in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle, graduated from Queen Anne High School, and graduated from the University of Washington (speech and communications) in 1982. After working in customer service at Nordstrom for three years, she became a secretary in the art department at Cornish College of the Arts. She started on Almost Live!, where her boyfriend (and later husband) Joe Guppy became a cast member of the show and had recently been hired as a writer for the program. In 1989, the couple moved to Los Angeles after her husband was hired by HBO to star in “It’s Not Newsworthy”, but the series was nearing its end. The pair later worked together as freelancers before returning to Seattle in 1992 to cover Almost Live. In 1996, she wrote and produced the play Cheaper Than Cure, a series of 32 shorts, seven acts, which premiered at Seattle’s Market Theatre that same year.
Since then, Guppy has been the creator/host/producer of a series focusing on arts and culture in the Pacific Northwest, which first aired on the Seattle Channel and KCTS-TV, City a Go Go.[1] And since 2015, she has hosted Art Zone with Nancy Guppy, a weekly TV show on the Seattle Channel. In 2015, she organized “Musicians: The Portrait Project,” an art exhibition featuring 172 portraits of important figures in the Seattle music scene by Ernie Sapiro, at Seattle’s newly renovated Union Stables.
