In 2003, Belle relocated to Portland. She is involved with the Portland Queer Comedy Festival’s production. Apart from her comedic career, Belle has authored articles for other magazines such as Cosmopolitan and Portland Mercury. She became well-known in 2021 after her open letter to comedian Dave Chappelle appeared in The Guardian. She was one of several comedians who took issue with the jokes in his Netflix show The Closer that they felt were transphobic. In March 2024, Belle appeared in the Netflix comedy special, Gender Agenda, hosted by Hannah Gadsby and also featuring fellow genderqueer comedians Jes Tom, Alok, Chloe Petts, DeAnne Smith, Krishna Istha, and Asha Ward.
