Padman Podcast – Armchair Expert
Together with Dax Shepard, Padman co-created the podcast Armchair Expert, which came about as a result of their shared practice of having intellectual debates on Shepard and Bell’s back porch. The program, which debuted on February 14, 2018, centers on in-depth discussions regarding the backgrounds, struggles, and accomplishments of its guests. A fact check, in which Padman and Shepard discuss the show after Padman has looked into any substantiable statements made by Shepard or their guests during the interview, concludes each 90–120 minute episode. The fact check, which frequently veers into personal tales and emphasizes Padman more than the interview portion of the show, usually lasts for thirty minutes.
Padman has stated that she first worried about whether her voice was being heard enough on the podcast, especially when they had Hollywood celebrities as guests who would help her acting career. However, she soon came to the realization that she didn’t have to prove herself to any of these individuals. She not only co-hosts but also books guests and edits every program.
Celebrities including Will Ferrell, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Kumail Nanjiani, Kristen Bell, and Ashton Kutcher have all been featured guests. A recurrent series of interviews in which Padman and Shepard interview subject matter experts, “Experts on Expert” debuted on the broadcast on June 7, 2018. Experts such as Bill Gates, Ibram X.
