Biography
Ming-Na Wen is an American actress and model most recognized for her role as Melinda May/The Cavalry on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Wen made her debut in The Joy Luck Club as June Woo. She also voiced the titular character in the animated feature Mulan, its sequel, and the computer game. Wen also made a cameo appearance in the live-action adaptation of Mulan (2020).

She is 60 years old as of 20 November 2023. She was born in 1963 in Coloane, Macao.
Family – Education
Her mother, Lin Chan Wen, fled communism in Suzhou, China, and relocated to Macau in the 1950s. Her father is of Malaysian Chinese heritage. She has an older brother, Jonathan[5], and a younger brother, Leong. When Wen was an infant, her parents split, and she relocated to Hong Kong with her brother and mother. Wen went to a Catholic school in Hong Kong. Her mother worked three jobs to support the family. Her mother remarried Chinese American Soo Lim Yee, and when Wen was four years old, the family relocated to New York City. Her younger brother, Leong, was born there.
After five years, Wen’s mother and stepfather relocated their family to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where they purchased and operated the Chinatown Inn restaurant (opened in 1943), which is still in business. They lived in the Pennsylvania suburb of Mt. Lebanon, where Wen attended Mount Lebanon High. She studied theatre at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and graduated in 1986.
Husband – Children
In 1990, Wen married Kirk Aanes, an American film writer. They got divorced three years later. Wen married Eric Michael Zee on June 16, 1995, and the couple had a daughter and a son. Wen’s first pregnancy was put into the ER script, and her character placed the child for adoption. Wen’s daughter, identified as Michaela Zee, has followed in her mother’s footsteps as a voice actress, playing Princess Jun in the Disney Channel animated series Sofia the First.

Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai
In Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, she portrays Fong Wing, Sam Wing’s mother. In Shanghai 1920, a youngster named Sam prepares medicine for Mr. Shao, instructing his two parents on how to do so until he is told to give his grandfather his medicine. He enters into his room and is snatched by his grandfather from beneath the bed. His grandfather informs him that he is becoming strong, and Sam gives him arthritis medicine, which he does not drink all of.
Sam’s mother tells him that he can go shopping with his father, Hon, which makes the youngster happy.His grandfather says he is now motivated and wants to accompany his grandson, persuading his daughter to allow him leave with Sam. He brings out his adventures box, which intrigues Sam, and his grandfather gives it to him. Gizmo is afraid as he looks at the other mogwai.
Sam’s grandfather informs him that there are several regulations for mogwai, including no bright lights and never feeding them after midnight. He puts them in a box while his daughter expresses her belief that his stories were not true. Sam’s grandfather says that mogwai are real, and that Sam and himself would be traveling to Fengdong, which has been decimated by the mogwai. Sam’s granddad invites his daughter and son-in-law while customers arrive at their shop.
ER
Wen appeared as Dr. Jing-Mei Chen in the medical drama series ER. She goes through several challenging changes during her time at County General Hospital. As previously indicated, she experiences a career crisis early in her medical education. She appears in the midst of season one as an eager young medical student eager to learn, only to leave near the end of the season after nearly murdering a guy while attempting to implant a central line into his chest.
At the time, she decided that she was better suited to medical research than working directly with patients after realizing that she was only interested in the science of medicine and not its direct application to people affected by disease or the effects of trauma on the body. She leaves County and does not pursue further medical studies.
