Megan has breast cancer that has returned and spread to her bones. Tom is unable to cope with his wife’s illness, but he begs her to continue treatment. The film concludes with Tom and Davey approaching Renee’s office to inquire about adopting him.

He appeared as Marshall Lovett in the 2015 American docudrama thriller film The Stanford Prison Experiment. Philip Zimbardo investigates the hypothesis that participants’ behavior is influenced by roles in social situations rather than individual personality traits. He chooses eighteen male students to take part in a 14-day prison simulation as prisoners or guards. Due to psychological breakdowns, two students who played prisoners left the experiment early. He abruptly ends the experiment after only six days after being chastised and roughly brought back to reality by his girlfriend Christina Maslach.
