Michael Greyeyes is an actor, dancer, choreographer, director, and educator from Indigenous Canada. He became well-known for his parts in Rutherford Falls, 1923, Blood Quantum, Woman Walks Ahead, Fear the Walking Dead, True Detective, I Know This Much Is True, and Crazy Horse. In 2021, he won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Actor.

Greyeyes was a dancer before he became a performer. In 1984, he received his diploma from The National Ballet School. Before he joined The National Ballet of Canada as a member of the Corps de Ballet in 1987, he was an apprentice.

In the episode “The Examples” from Star Trek: Discovery’s fourth season, Greyeyes portrayed Felix. Felix was a human who resided in the Akaali colony on Radvek V in the 32nd century. He killed and stole the Doxica family’s antique lalogi orb in 3160 after robbing the stranger. Felix was taken into custody and given a life sentence. Though his true intention was to die in prison as a punishment, he sought to assist the other Examples in righting the injustice.
Felix hoped to return the lalogi orb eventually, so he kept it hidden from the prison guards. The Dark Matter Anomaly threatened Radvek V in 3190. Cleveland Booker and Captain Michael Burnham showed up to save the six Examples. Felix fought for his fellow inmates and succeeded in getting them asylum from the Federation. Still, he wouldn’t go because of his obligation. Burnham agreed to take care of the lalogi orb. Transporters for evacuation were prevented and the colony’s destruction was confirmed by the Dark Matter Anomaly. As the DMA propelled Radvek V into its sun, Felix faced his fate in peace and confided in Burnham for the first time about his crime.
Greyeyes True Detective
He portrayed Brett Woodard, a True Detective recurring character, in Season 3. Brett is a veteran of the Vietnam War whose wife left him and their kids because he was unable to adjust to civilian life. Brett gathers rubbish and junk to resell in order to make ends meet. Before Will and Julie Purcell vanished in 1980, he had seen them. Roland West and Wayne Hays question him after he turns into a suspect.

Greyeyes Fear the Walking Dead
In AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead, Greyeyes portrays Qaletaqa Walker, the chief of the Black Hat Reservation. The third season featured Qaletaqa Walker as a recurrent character. The enemy for the first part of the season is Qaletaqa, the chief of the Hopi Tribe living on Black Hat Reservation.
As the Chief of the Hopi Tribe, Qaletaqa Walker resides on the Black Hat Reservation in California, which is close to Broke Jaw Ranch and San Diego. Walker and other tribe members have a long-standing land dispute with the people of Broke Jaw Ranch. Several tribal members, including Walker’s father, were killed by the people of Broke Jaw Ranch, primarily members of the Otto Family, and were interred there.
In an attempt to recover lost territory, Qaletaqa attempted to sue the Otto family and the ranch using his legal skills. The lawsuits were all unsuccessful. Many tribal members now despise the people who live at Broke Jaw Ranch due to the deaths of tribe members and the loss of land. Many tribal members, led by Qaletaqa, saw an opportunity to exact revenge on the people living in Broke Jaw Ranch and reclaim lost territory as a result of the epidemic and the subsequent breakdown of law and order.
