Hall is an actor, singer, and musician from the United States well recognized for his appearances as David Fisher in the HBO drama series Six Feet Under and Dexter Morgan, the title character in the Showtime series Dexter. Hall won three Screen Actors Guild Awards and a Golden Globe for her combined performance in these two roles. He has narrated audiobooks and performed in Broadway productions. Hall has been the lead vocalist for the three-album-releasing band Princess Goes, located in New York City, since 2018.

C. Hall Family – Education
His father, William Carlyle Hall, was a systems engineer manager at IBM, and his mother, Janice (née Styons) Hall, works as a mental health counselor at Lees-McRae College. One older sister of Hall passed away before he was even born. When Hall was eleven years old, in 1982, his 39-year-old father passed away from prostate cancer. Hall received his diplomas from Earlham College, a liberal arts university in Richmond, Indiana, in 1993, and from Ravenscroft School in Raleigh in 1989.
Although he has stated that he had intended to practice law, he subsequently admitted that he had never really considered attending law school. In 1996, Hall completed the Tisch School of the Arts graduate acting program at New York University. Hall’s introduction to acting came at an early age: when in the second grade at Ravenscroft School, he participated in the play What Love Is.
C. Hall Wife – Children
Hall wed actress Amy Spanger in 2002. Hall portrayed Billy Flynn in the Broadway musical Chicago alongside Roxie Hart, played by Spanger, the summer following their nuptials. In 2006, the couple got divorced. Hall started dating Jennifer Carpenter, his co-star on Dexter, in 2007. They went public with their first joint appearance as a married couple at the 66th Golden Globe Awards in January 2009, having eloped in California on New Year’s Eve 2008.
Hall and Carpenter announced in a statement in December 2010 that they had been “for some time” separated and that they had filed for divorce. Despite their divorce being finalized in December 2011 due to irreconcilable reasons, the two are still close friends. Hall started dating Los Angeles Review of Books associate editor Morgan Macgregor in September 2012, and the two got married on February 29, 2016.
C. Hall Cancer – Illness
Hall’s agent and spokesperson announced on January 13, 2010, that Hall was receiving treatment for a kind of Hodgkin’s lymphoma. In an interview, Hall stated that it was distressing to find out he had cancer at the age of 38 because his father had passed away from the disease at 39. Hall lost his hair to chemotherapy, which he covered with a wig in season 5 of Dexter. In 2010, he won his Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award while sporting a knit cap over his bald head. Carpenter declared on April 25, 2010, that Hall was scheduled to return to work for a new season of Dexter and that his cancer was completely in remission.
C. Hall Six Feet Under
On Six Feet Under, C. Hall played David Fisher, the middle child and second son of the Fisher family. Being four years younger than his older brother Nate, he and Nate have a tense relationship at the start of the show, primarily because of David’s envy of Nate’s escape from the Fisher household and his portrayal as a “Golden Boy” by their parents, Ruth and Nathaniel Sr. After Nate chooses to stay and assist with the family business, their relationship improves. By the end of Season 1, they are revealed to have reconciled, and by the end of Season 2, they have developed a strong bond.
Ruth, his mother, and he appear to have a loving, although sometimes tense, relationship. He had a fond but distant relationship with his father. He and Claire appear to have the strongest relationship in the family because they chat a lot about their difficulties and life experiences, and they have even gone out to get high together. Dexter Morgan, also referred to as “The Bay Harbor Butcher,” was a vigilante serial murderer from Miami who was renowned for his painstaking executions. For the Miami Metro Police Department, he collected, processed, and interpreted evidence in close collaboration with homicide detectives and a forensic specialist. Because Dexter frequently utilized his access to police databases and his ability to tamper with evidence for his own benefit, it was common for him to use these abilities for personal gain.
