Career
Yocum began his broadcasting career in 1992 as a sports reporter and anchor for NBC affiliates in Orlando, Florida and Bristol, Tennessee. He joined TNN (Nashville Network) in 1995 as a pit reporter and motorsports bureau reporter. He also appeared on the channel’s racing magazine program “Raceday”. From 1995 to 1998, Yocum covered various motorsports events for TNN, including the NASCAR Winston Cup, Busch Grand National, Craftsman Trucks, Busch Grand National North, ARCA and others. During this time, Yocum received numerous honors and awards, including two AP Sports Feature Awards in 1995 and two Telly Awards in 1997 for his feature on NASCAR’s Greatest Drivers and his remarkable performance in that year’s All-Star Game. took.
