Matt began stand-up comedy at the age of 15 and has since toured around the world performing with some of the biggest names in comedy; Rife is best known for his self-produced comedy specials Only Fans (2021), Matthew Steven Rife (2023), and Walking Red Flag (2023), as well as his 2023 Netflix special Natural Selection.

Matt Rife hosted the short-lived reboot of Total Request Live in 2017 and appeared on MTV’s The Challenge: Champions vs. Stars. In 2018, he starred in the B-rated gore film “Black Pumpkin”. Rife is also a mystery investigator on the YouTube channel “Day Night”. He reprised his role in the 2019 series Bring It On, where he made it to the semifinals but was eliminated in week 8, and in the Netflix special Natural Selection. Rife has produced the feature films Only Face (2021), Matthew Steven Rife (2023), and Walking the Flag (2023). He has also guest-starred on the sketch comedy and improv competition program Wild ‘n Out, the comedy-drama series Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Brandon Bliss, and the sitcom TV series Fresh Off the Boat as Brandon Bliss. In December 2022, Rife signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA). He released a Matthew Steven Rife special of the same name on Valentine’s Day in April 2023.
