Long role on Helix
Long appeared as Dr. Kyle Sommer, a member of Dr. Peter Farragut’s rapid response team in the American science fiction horror drama television series Helix. He travels to St. Germaine Island with Peter and Sarah. Texas native Kyle has stated that he always carries a gun with him when traveling. Later on, it becomes clear that Kyle is a spy for an unidentified source whose job it is to bring in Dr. Alan Farragut.
Off the US west coast, Kyle, Sarah Jordan, and Peter Farragut look into a shipboard NARVIK infection. Germain is a little island where the boat stopped briefly before illnesses started. They decide to visit St. Germain after learning that the pathogen on the boat was not NARVIK. By taking down a cult member who is infected, Kyle saves Peter’s life. They talk about the illness and do a cross-examination using samples obtained off Soren and from the boat.
When Kyle meets Amy and Lizzy, they inform him that Soren broke a rule, which ultimately resulted in his demise. Together, they carry out an autopsy on Brother Isaacs’s corpse and collaborate to identify the virus’s source. They find that the most likely cause is probably the poisonous honey that bees make. Kyle meets an enigmatic woman who gives him the assignment to learn more about Dr. Alan Farragut. Kyle and Sarah attempt to halt the bleeding after leaving the abbey, but Sister Agnes takes control and they ultimately depart the island.
After his mycocis is cured, Kyle apologizes to Alan for attempting to kill him. Kyle discloses that his mother passed away following Olivia’s murder by Peter when he was roughly Soren’s age. Kyle assures Soren he will be a member of his family.
Long role on Manifest
Long appeared as Zeke Landon on NBC’s Manifest. Zeke, a character in Fasten Your Seatbelts, uses his abilities to shield Michaela from the NYPD. To avoid being found, he grows out his beard and hides at his mother’s house. When Cal finds him, they embrace outside of the jail. Zeke enters a guilty plea in Grounded, but Michaela doesn’t think so. They track him down in False Horizon, where they testify in court, revealing Jared’s wrongdoings and persuading the magistrate of his innocence.
They hug outside the jail after being freed, then head to the Stones for dinner. They assist in stopping a bank robbery in Black Box and protect Logan Strickland from his brother Frank. Zeke completes his rehabilitation and reconciles with Michaela, atoning for his previous transgressions. They, together with Michaela’s NYPD partner Drea, assist Courtney in paying off debt and eliminating Lucas and his guys. Michaela confronts Zeke in Emergency Exit regarding the drugs she discovered in his razor. Zeke learns he has frostbite as they escape a nightclub fire.
Long role on Jack & Bobby
Matt appeared as Jack McCallister in the American drama television series Jack & Bobby. The show centers on the lives of Jack and Bobby McCallister, two teenage brothers who were reared in a Missouri college town by their mother Grace. Professor of history Grace forbids her sons from watching television. Bobby is an asthmatic nerd, while Jack is a popular track star. The show shows snippets of a documentary about President McCallister’s life that includes member interviews discussing his early experiences and leadership. The pilot episode is when the future of the McCallister brothers as president is revealed.
