Martin Sheen is an Actor from from the Unbited States who became well-known for his breakout performances in the Vietnam War drama Apocalypse Now directed by Francis Ford Coppola and the crime thriller Badlands directed by Terrence Malick. Over the course of a six-decade career, he won multiple honors, including three Screen Actors Guild Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and an Emmy.

Father – Family

On August 3, 1940, Sheen was born in Dayton, Ohio, to Mary-Ann (née Phelan) and Francisco Estévez Martínez. Sheen’s left arm was crushed at birth, resulting in Erb’s palsy. Her parents were Irish immigrants. His father worked at the National Cash Register Company as a machine inspector and manufacturing worker. Sheen’s family resided on Bermuda, where five of his brothers were born, while he was raised in South Park, Ohio.

After the family came back from Bermuda, Martin was the firstborn in Dayton, Ohio. Sheen spent a year bedridden after contracting polio as a child. He was able to regain use of his legs with the help of his doctor and Sister Kenny’s approach. When Sheen’s mother passed away at the age of eleven, the kids might have to go into foster care or an orphanage. The family was able to stay united with the aid of Dayton’s Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Martin’s Wife

Sheen wed Janet Templeton on December 23, 1961.  The couple met while attending college at The New School for Social Research in New York City.

Children

Martin and his wife have three biological children whoare also in the field of acting; two sons, Emilio, Ramón, Carlos, and and a daughter Renée. Carlos, on the other hand, decided to change his name when he began performing, calling himself Charlie Sheen after deciding to anglicize his first name and adopt his surname from his father’s stage name, despite the fact that he had already been known exclusively as Charlie since elementary school.

Charlie and his father imitated their roles in the 1993 film Hot Shots! Part Deux; when their river patrol boats pass, they both shout. In a number of films and television shows, he has portrayed the father of two sons, Emilio and Carlos: Charlie’s father in Wall Street, No Code of Conduct, two Spin City episodes, and Anger Management, and Emilio’s father in The War at Home, In the Custody of Strangers, and The Way.

He was raised in New Hampshire and went to the London School of Economics and the University of Notre Dame. Matthew Santos took over as his successor and went back to New Hampshire to manage his library.

In the NBC drama The West Wing, Sheen portrayed fictional Democratic president Josiah “Jed” Bartlet. In 2000, he won a Golden Globe for Best Actor – Television Series Drama and was nominated six times for a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

During this time, he portrayed Roger Strong in Steven Spielberg’s crime thriller Catch Me If You Can (2002), Captain Oliver Queenan in Martin Scorsese’s crime drama The Departed (2006), and Jack Stevens in the biographical picture Bobby. In 2005, he received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his appearance on Two and a Half Men. He also acted in the sitcom Spin City in 2002 and the film Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (2007).

Badlands

He appeared as Kit in the 1973 American neo-noir period crime drama film Badlands. In the movie, Kit Carruthers, a 25-year-old garbage collector and Korean War veteran, meets Holly Sargis, a 15-year-old girl from Fort Dupree, South Dakota. As they become closer, Kit’s aggressive inclinations come to light. Kit’s father kills her dog as a kind of punishment because he disapproves of her. They set fire to the house and fled to Montana, pretending to be suicides. They fish, build a tree house, and pilfer hens. Kit shoots the bounty seekers dead after they find them.

They go to Cato, a former colleague of Kit’s, for help, but Kit shoots him as well. Law enforcement chases after them throughout the Midwest, eventually apprehending and trailing them from Montana to Saskatchewan. Holly surrenders herself and declines to accompany Kit. Kit charms the cops and National Guard soldiers while leading them on a car chase. Holly discloses that Kit was put to death for his crimes, she was placed on probation, and she married the son of her defense lawyer.
