Neitling role on Madam Secretary
She appeared as Annelies De Runnow in the American political drama television series Madam Secretary. In the fifth season, Jay meets renowned Dutch chess player Annelies De Runnow while stranded at Shannon Airport in Ireland as a result of a volcanic explosion in Iceland. After spending many hours at the airport, they begin to feel attracted to each other and decide to begin a long-distance romance. Jay originally turns down the opportunity to be Elizabeth’s chief of staff when she decides to run for president in order to begin a relationship with Annelies. Neitling appeared as Kara Green on the TNT his show The Last Ship. Kara Green, née Foster, is a former US Navy officer who served in the Combat Information Center under Commander Tom Chandler on board the USS Nathan James. She was also President Michener’s deputy chief of staff. She is married to Lieutenant Danny Green, who serves as the commander of the USS Nathan James’s Navy Mountain Warfare Unit team.
Due to the symptoms Kara had, Rachel and Quincy were able to determine that she was pregnant following her sex with Danny Green in the episode Trials, where Kara was testing the antidote for the cure. She received an injection of the cure once it was discovered, making her and her pregnant child virus-free.
Kara and Danny wed in the second season finale. When Captain Chandler addresses Kara as “Mrs. Green” in the season three opener, it becomes evident that Danny and Kara are already married. In remembrance of Danny’s late buddy Franklin Benz, Kara and Danny have named their newborn kid Frankie. In “Don’t Look Back,” Kara serves as a sharpshooter during the confrontation with Allison Shaw’s men and helps remove Captain Chandler’s children from the plane. This helps save Tom Chandler’s children and bring Allison Shaw to justice. Later, she makes Danny’s first introduction to his son. She was granted command of the USS Nathan James and rose to the rank of Commander at some point before to the start of the season.
Kara appears below decks for the first time on the Nathan James. She runs across Lt. Danny Green, her former secret boyfriend. They share a kiss in a tiny space, and Kara shows off her fiery personality by making fun of Lt. Green’s smile and how it affects her. Later, Kara is shown assisting in the CIC in fending off the Russian helicopters that are attacking. Kara is seen in her position in the CIC throughout the events of the first episode. Then, for the first time in four months, she is seen gazing onto American soil from the Nathan James’ bow.
