She appeared as Captain Olivia “Liv” Margaret Benson, the commanding officer of the Manhattan Special Victims Unit in the American crime drama television series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Storyline

Olivia was born in 1968 as a result of Serena Benson’s rape by a food salesman named Joseph Hollister. Simon Marsden is Benson’s half-brother. Olivia was appointed as the legal guardian of Gladys Dalton’s cocaine-affected premature daughter in 2010. In 2014, following the Season 15 finale, Benson is appointed as the custodial guardian of Noah Porter, an orphaned baby she rescued from child pornographers. A year later, at the end of Season 16, Benson formally adopts Noah. At the end of the season 14 finale “Her Negotiation,” Benson is kidnapped by serial rapist/murderer William Lewis. She manages to free herself, handcuffs him, and holds him at gunpoint. Lewis survived and is now in jail awaiting trial, it was later revealed. In “Beast’s Obsession,” Lewis escapes from prison using the distraction provided by his cardiac incident. He then rapes an adolescent girl, kidnaps her younger sister, and threatens to kill her unless B. threatens to kill her unless he is released. Benson has been receiving counseling as a result of the assault.

Storyline

Malcolm Graves, a former member of a satanic cult, is Jonathan Graves’ father. He and his girlfriend Rebecca inherit his father’s estate, which contains occult memorabilia and magic books. As Jonathan chants, his father is raised from the dead, and he raises his mother, who is then attacked by Ghoulies and Dwarves, but Jonathan breaks the spell by placing the talisman around her neck. Jonathan’s quest to learn more about his parents, whom he never met, is the subject of the book. Malcolm appears with the dwarves, revealing that he resurrected Jonathan in order to capture and sacrifice his youth. During the battle, Malcolm resurrects Rebecca to distract Jonathan. Wolfgang appears with his own magical abilities and defeats Malcolm.
