Marcia Withers is the wife of the late Bill Withers, an American singer-songwriter and musician who was widely recognized and celebrated. Marcia heads Mattie Music Group in LA, thus, she controls the publishing companies that Bill owned and their worldwide sub-publisher representatives. She also oversaw the career management for Bill with such key moments as being the liaison for the master recording catalog on Sony Music’s Legacy Recordings for Bill as well as the placement of Bill’s songs in so many films and television shows as well as other media.
Bill Withers died on March 30, 2020 in Los Angeles, from heart complications at the age of 81. His death as announced four days later and he is interred in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Hollywood Hills).
Marcia is a graduate of UCLA Graduate School of Management. Prior to managing her husband’s companies, she previously worked for Management III and Concerts West. She is a supporter of several charities which include the Stuttering Association for the Young (SAY) where she serves as a Board member.
