In 1999, the Divorce Court was resurrected and Ephriam was appointed as the arbitrator of the show. She was the first star of the reality-based version of The Court of Divorce. Previously, the program used dramatic re-enactments of real-life divorce proceedings. She was also the first African American woman to preside over the series.
