Lynsey Bartilson Career
Lynsey, who has always danced, took first place in a talent competition when she was just seven years old, winning in solo dance. Despite being the youngest student in the class, she was cast as the Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz during a summer theater session, which is when she fell in love with humor. ‘Dorothy’ was trembling in terror as Lynsey, with her quickly-exposed gift for comedic timing, had the crowd howling with amusement. At nine years old, Lynsey started her professional acting career with cameos on TV shows and videos. She was participating in professional musical theater performances all around Los Angeles at the same time. She received positive reviews for her performances as Ramona Quimby and Annie in three separate productions.
She kept dancing professionally and participated twice in the annual Nutcracker performance by the Joffrey Ballet. When CBS started searching for a young triple-threat to perform opposite Angela Lansbury in the Hallmark Christmas musical special, Mrs. Santa Claus, all that expertise in musical theater paid well. Lynsey, the director and choreographer of Celebrity Center’s Kids on Stage for a Better World, collaborates with 40–50 young people to produce benefit performances that promote positive messages for underprivileged communities. The ensemble received the Michael J. Young Artists Awards under Lynsey’s supervision. Furthermore, Lynsey is the Youth for Human Rights’ International Spokesperson at the moment. The objective of this organization is: “To teach youth around the globe about human rights, thus helping them to become valuable advocates for the promotion of tolerance and peace.”
