Minchin rose to prominence after joining ‘BBC Radio Live,’ a national radio initiative of British Broadcasting Television, in 1998. Minchin was promoted to news presenter after five years with the channel. She was a news presenter for the BBC from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. for a long time. The majority of these appearances on news channels were co-hosted by another well-known British journalist, Jon Sapel. Minchin is well-known for her contribution to the BBC Breakfast show. The opportunity to host the show came in 2006, during the absence of regular host Sian Williams. Minchin co-hosted the show with Kate Silverton and remained a part of it even after Williams’ return.
Minchin was chosen to host the show Missing Live in 2008. During the first experiment, the show aired for four weeks. The show was rebroadcast over the next two years, with each season lasting four weeks. In 2008, Minchin was given a new assignment.
