Quinn joined CBS 2 in April 2007 as a 14-time Emmy Award winner, including “Best Weather Anchor” in 2015, 2014, 2012, 2011, and 2010. He joined WCBS from WTVJ, an NBC-owned and operated station in Miami, where he was the weather anchor on “Today in South Florida” and won an Emmy for “Best on Air Talent.” In June 2007, he took over for John Bolaris, who had moved to weekends only to complete his contract.

Quinn worked closely with Max Mayfield, former director of the National Hurricane Center, during the 2005 hurricane season, tracking the most active tropical season in history. Quinn also joined the Hurricane Hunters in 2003, when they flew through the eye of Hurricane Isabel off the coast of North Carolina, collecting data.

After transitioning from acting to broadcasting, his first newsroom job was as an evening news anchor and weekend weather anchor at WVIR in Charlottesville, Virginia. Prior to that, he worked at several Charlottesville radio stations, including WADA-LP, as an on-air personality at WQMZ-FM, and as a morning show co-host and news director at WVAO. He received a bachelor’s degree in communications from Boston College and swam for the Boston College swim team. He has a Federal Aviation Administration meteorology certificate and is constantly working to advance his formal meteorological training.
