KGO dismissed Young and several other talk-show hosts on December 1, 2011. Until September 2008, Young worked as a television weatherman for KERO in Bakersfield, California. Rusty Shoop, a former KERO weatherman, took his post. Young may be heard on KKSF-AM in San Francisco from 2012 until 2016. After KKSF-AM became an ESPN Deportes station in July 2016, he was let go. The group commissioned Young to feature on the album after becoming fans of his work on WWOR, according to author Dan LeRoy in his book on Paul’s Boutique.
