Liz Evora is a naturalized American broadcast journalist of Cuban origin. She is currently an InfoMás news reporter and producer. Evora began her career as a child in Havana, Cuba, starring in theater plays.

Evora began her studies in mass communication at Miami Dade College in 2006, and a year later transferred to the University of Miami, where she graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and political science, as well as a minor in communication studies.

She anchored and reported for UniMiami, the University of Miami’s Spanish news magazine, while at “The U,” and interned with Univision 23, WLTV-DT, where she helped cover crime, education, immigration, politics, and the 2010 World Cup. Evora joined Telemundo Amarillo in 2010, where she is the anchor and producer of the 5 p.m. daily newscast. She relocated to Tampa in the spring of 2011, where she worked as a reporter for Bay News 9 in Espaol, a fast-paced 24-hour news cable channel. After the merger of Bay News 9 en Espaol and Central Florida News en Espaol, she became a reporter for the new regional channel InfoMás.
She contributed reports for weekday newscasts and produced for weekend editions, covering stories such as the Republican National Convention in Tampa and the most recent presidential debate in Boca Raton. For the station’s first anniversary in 2012, she produced a documentary about Cuban society. Liz has helped raise funds for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at the La Mejor radio station marathon in Amarillo, Texas. In English, she produced and directed “The Greatest Commodity in the World…”, a short documentary film on one of Miami’s marginalized neighborhoods. During the 2010 midterm elections, she worked as a Spanish interpreter in a predominantly Latino district. Evora is also a member of the NAHJ, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
