Kim began working as a general assignment reporter and morning news cut-in anchor for WBBM-TV in Chicago in January 1995. Kim worked as a desk assistant at WBBM-TV while attending journalism school. Kim left WBBM in mid-1996 to become an anchor and host on MSNBC. Kim left MSNBC in 1999 to work for San Jose’s KNTV. She announced her departure from KNTV in San Jose on the 5:00 p.m. broadcast on December 9, 2010.
