Joyner worked as an intern at Los Angeles’ KNBC-TV. She subsequently relocated to Texas, where she worked as a reporter, weekend anchor, editor, and producer. She was later recruited as a morning host in Harlingen, Texas. This experience helped her persuade major media outlets to hire her as a health reporter and 5-pm anchor.
She worked as a celebrity news reporter for KTTV and KCBS-TV, where she reported and produced articles about award shows such as the Oscars, Grammys, Razzies, Emmys, and People’s Choice. She also worked as an L.A. entertainment reporter for Fox News from 1996 to 2002, and as a weathercaster for Channel 2 Action News from 2002 to 2004.
