Curry represented Australia 16 times between 1977 and 1992. She participated in the Olympics in 1980, 1984, and 1992; both the World Championships in 1978 and 1982; and the Commonwealth Games in 1978, 1982, and 1990.
Curry competed in three Commonwealth Games and won seven gold medals, two silver medals, and one bronze medal: a silver decoration in the 4×100-meter mixture hand-off at Edmonton in 1978; at Brisbane in 1982, three gold medals (in the 100-meter butterfly, 200-meter, and 400-meter individual medleys) and a bronze medal (in the 100-meter freestyle); and four gold medals in the 100-meter butterfly, 50-meter freestyle, 4100-meter freestyle relay, and 4100-meter medley relay at Auckland in 1990, as well as one silver medal in the 100-meter freestyle.
She competed in surf boat rowing and outrigger canoe events after retiring from swimming. In 1997, her team won the World Championship Outrigger Canoe event.
