Career
Alvarado began touring and performing in theater for six years, then took acting classes before moving to Los Angeles to continue her career. In 2001, Alvarado reached the semifinals of the Comedy Central Comedy Competition. Alvarado based some of her early documentation on her life experiences as a Latina mother, dating, and a woman working in a male-dominated job. In 2003, he participated in the first season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing program and reached the semi-finals. In 2006, Alvarado placed second in Nite’s “Searching for America’s Funniest Moms 2” contest. In 2007, he joined Sinbad (actor) and the “Best Christian Humorists” list with the movie “You Must Laugh 3”.
Other television credits include Comedy.tv, Byron Allon’s Comics Unleashed, TV Guide Network’s “StandUp in Stilettos” and “Stand Up & Deliver!” It is located. on NuvoTV (formerly SàTV). In 2011, Alvarado appeared alongside Paul Rodriguez in 10 episodes of Mis Videos Locos on MTV Tres Network, playing Paul Rodriguez’s partner. Attend events, cruises and military tours around the world. After 10 years in the industry, Alvarado traveled to his hometown of Chicago in 2011 to shoot and create his first comedy special. Thanks to the value of creative content in streaming, he created our first web series and won the Latin Short Film Festival’s final award for “Best Actor in a Web Series” and “Best Web Series.
Alvarado was hired by Entertainment Studios in 2017 as content creator/co-writer for 130 episodes of “It’s Funny You Should Ask” and also performed stand-up work at various events held in California. After performing in San Diego, she met a man with primary lateral sclerosis (PLS), a disease similar to ALS. His dying wish was to do stand-up comedy, so Alvarado enlisted some of his closest friends to help him realize his dream. Alvarado, through his production company, released a documentary about their collaboration and the “healing power of acting” titled “Don’t Wait: The Michael Schmid Story.” Alvarado, along with her production company, aims to support other female and diverse creators and stories. Steve Trevino, Jessica Keenan, Carlos Santos and Emilio Rivera are joining HA! ] 2021 also saw the release of the Dry Bar Comedy special.
