Lexi Allen is a gospel singer, producer, actress, comedian, television personality, and screenwriter from the United States. During her freshman year in college, she was awarded the Ms. Bronze Pageant. In 1989, she became a member of Zeta Phi Beta.

She used to sing background vocals for Gerald LeVert, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, and Fred Hammond, among others. Following the release of her debut album Call Her Lexi (1990), she took a break from music, studying and working as a teacher before returning to singing a decade later. Nucklos married music producer Michael Allen, who assisted her in managing her musical career. Allen drew the attention of former boxing champion Evander Holyfield, who had founded the record label Real Deal Records, during their marriage. Lexi released Lexi & That’s the Way It Is (2002), A Praise in the Valley (2004), and What Heaven Hears (2005) while signed to Holyfield’s label.

Her 2004 album was nominated for a Stellar Gospel Music Award. Allen became the public face of The Word Network in 2006, where she hosts the weekly program “The Word Network Church with Lexi.”She also hosted The Lexi Show, which aired on The Word Network and featured guests such as B.Slade (then known as Tonex), Carlton Pearson, Shirley Caesar, DeWayne Woods, and many others. The Lexi Show was canceled for nearly a year in 2010, following an interview in which Tonex discussed his same-sex attraction and his views on sexuality in general. The show returned in 2011, and then again in 2015, after a three-year hiatus.

Phenomenal, her 2012 album, was produced after she signed with Malaco Music Group. This album’s singles “Burn It All Down” and “Abide” charted at #20 and #14 on the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs chart. Allen’s segment “Inside Inspiration with Lexi” airs on The Yolanda Adams Morning Show on a regular basis. She has created comedy videos on her YouTube channel about church culture, African-American culture, and parodies of popular TV shows. She also owns ALX Hair, a company that sells hair extensions.
