He became a well-recognized historian as well as an expert and official chronicler of the Mexico national team as a result of his passion: he has published four books and produced eighty videos on the history of “ftbol” in Mexico. Krauze has been covering politics in the United States since 1997, for both American and Mexican news outlets. In 2005, he wrote “La Casa Dividida,” a book about Bush’s first five years in office. Juan Manuel Santos, Nick Clegg, Felipe Calderón, Enrique Pea Nieto, Shimon Peres, and Barack Obama are among the politicians Krauze has interviewed.
Foreign Affairs, The New Republic, Foreign Policy, Newsweek, Los Angeles Times, El Pas, and Letras Libres have all published his work. He is currently a contributor to The Daily Beast, a weekly columnist for El Universal in Mexico, and the host of Slate’s Gabfest en Espaol podcast. He has been a journalism professor at the USC Annenberg School since 2016.
Krauze anchored “Segunda Emisión,” Mexico’s most popular afternoon radio newsmagazine, for five years. Krauze immediately rose to prominence when he moved to television, hosting “Hora 21,” the primary broadcast for Foro TV, Televisa’s 24-hour news network.
Krauze was the principal anchor at Univision’s Los Angeles station, KMEX, for ten years; his last broadcast was on January 14, 2022, and he will join Univision national news in Miami alongside Patricia Janiot on January 24th. Krauze also presents “En boca de León” (“In the Lion’s Mouth”), a daily political analysis radio show on Univision’s Los Angeles flagship talk radio KTNQ. He’s also a Fusion regular, where he hosts the show “Open Source.”
