Prepon role on Orange Is the New Black
In Orange is the New Black, Prepon portrayed Alex Vause, a former drug smuggler who was Piper Chapman’s intermittent girlfriend. One of the primary characters on Orange Is the New Black is Alexandra Pearl “Alex” Vause. She was a prisoner at Litchfield Penitentiary and Piper Chapman’s “prison wife” because they aren’t officially wed. In Season 7, she was moved to Ohio. Laura Prepon plays the part of her.
The actual Nora, whose full name is Catherine Cleary Wolters, is the inspiration for Alex’s character in the memoir Orange is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison. Alex Vause is cunning, sarcastic, and streetwise. She interacts with other prisoners, but she emotionally isolates herself even though she isn’t scared to defend herself if provoked. Alex loves to read, therefore you can usually find her with a book in her hand. Alex is observant and skilled at reading people.
Despite their affections for one another, Piper and Alex both betray one another for their own advantage. Although Alex relies on Piper just as much as Piper does, she hides this fact behind her tough exterior and only occasionally displays weakness to close friends like Nicky. Alex is intelligent, composed, and equipped with good survival skills. When faced with challenges, he typically maintains a sense of humor. Tall and thin, Alex Vause frequently sports plucked eyebrows and thick eyeliner. She loves dark lipstick and wears thick black frames. Among the many tattoos Alex has are designs of shooting stars, red roses, and salt shakers. In flashbacks, her long black hair appears to have blue streaks.
