Spencer went to the NBC website program after college, where she would volunteer to work with other reporters to gain experience. From there, she landed a job as a reporter, producer, editor, cameraman, and news-van driver at CBS affiliate WDEF-TV in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she was basically a one-man group.” She joined News 12 Long Island a year later and two years after that she anchored WABC-TV’s 3 AM newscast.
