Landis Blair ( born Peter Landis Blair) is an illustrator and comics artist from the United States. He created and painted The Envious Siblings and Other Morbid Nursery Rhymes after illustrating the graphic novel The Hunting Accident. He’s also renowned as a member of The Order of the Good Death and for his work with Caitlin Doughty.

Edward Gorey influenced Blair’s elaborately crosshatched drawings and grim storytelling. His work on The Hunting Accident was described by The New York Times as “graphomaniacal fervor.” Blair rose to attention as a result of his 420-page artwork for David Carlson’s book The Hunting Accident: a True Story of Crime and Poetry.
The Envious Siblings, which will be published by Norton in 2019, was both written and illustrated by him. Caitlin Doughty’s second book, From Here to Eternity, was published the same year, with some original pictures by Blair. Under the publishing label Sastergoodment Press, Blair also writes and publishes some of his own books.
An etched glass site-specific sculpture by Landis Blair can be found in the lobby of an Art Deco apartment building in downtown Memphis. It features a map of Memphis, historic landmarks, and the building’s history. His images have been utilized for commercial art such as t-shirt and tote bag designs, and have appeared in print and online periodicals.
