American producer and correspondent Holman works for PBS NewsHour. She previously worked as a reporter and producer for WTOC in Georgia. In addition, Holman has had jobs with local government administrations and numerous national organizations, such as the American Civil Liberties Union. Holman began working for The MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour, later renamed the PBS NewsHour, in 1983 as a producer, correspondent, and congressional correspondent. During his time at the NewsHour, Holman received a George Polk Award for National Television Reporting for his work on violence and abortion clinics, as well as an Emmy Award for his coverage of the national agricultural crisis, both of which are national prizes for journalistic quality. On January 13, 1995, he appeared as a guest on the C-SPAN interview program Washington Journal. He departed from the NewsHour in 2014. Prior to joining the NewsHour, he worked for the CBS station WTOC in Savannah, Georgia. Holman also served as public relations consultant to the National Summit Conference on Black Economic Development as well as serving as a special assistant to the president of the Children’s Defense Fund. He served as the acting press secretary to the mayor of Washington, D.C. during 1980.
