Erbe was cast in the sitcom Chicken Soup as Lynn Redgrave’s daughter while she was an undergraduate at NYU. Afterwards, she joined the Steppenwolf Theatre Company and has acted in numerous shows for them, such as Curse of the Starving Class, A Streetcar Named Desire, and The Grapes of Wrath, which ran for six months and took home the 1990 Tony Award for Best Play.
