However, she succeeds in escaping her shackles and frees her hand from a grate, whereupon a man walking his dog discovers her. She is saved, and the hospital treats her. City on a Hill
She appeared as Sue Stanton in the American crime drama television series City on a Hill. On June 7, 2019 (online) and June 16, 2019 (Showtime), the television series made its debut. Career
Erbe was cast in the sitcom Chicken Soup as Lynn Redgrave’s daughter while she was an undergraduate at NYU. Afterwards, she joined the Steppenwolf Theatre Company and has acted in numerous shows for them, such as Curse of the Starving Class, A Streetcar Named Desire, and The Grapes of Wrath, which ran for six months and took home the 1990 Tony Award for Best Play. Erbe’s performance as Mary in The Speed of Darkness garnered her a consideration for a Tony Award in 1991.
Erbe starred in independent films Dream with the Fishes, Love from Ground Zero, and Entropy in addition to What About Bob?, Stir of Echoes, and Rich in Love. In Kiss of Death, she portrayed David Caruso’s opposite. She was in the HBO series Oz as Shirley Bellinger. In 1997, she appeared as a guest on Homicide: Life on the Street. She also portrayed Detective Harry Ambrose’s wife Fay Ambrose in the USA Network series The Sinner.
