In the episode “Affliction” from the fourth season of Star Trek: Enterprise, McNeil portrayed Collins. Commander Collins was a Starfleet officer assigned to Starfleet Security in the twenty-first century. Collins looked into the kidnapping of San Francisco physician Dr. Phlox in 2154. She questioned Hoshi Sato, who was working with Phlox at the moment, and answered inquiries regarding their initial results from Jonathan Archer and Malcolm Reed.
McNeil role on The Leap Between the States
The Quantum Leap episode “The Leap Between the States” features McNeil as Olivia Barrett Covington, a twice-widowed Southern war bride, Northern sympathizer, and Sam’s great-grandmother. Sam Beckett’s great-grandmother, Olivia Barrett Covington, was a widowed Southern war bride who supported the North and assisted runaway slaves in getting to the Union lines in close proximity to the Underground Railroad. She makes an appearance in the Quantum Leap episode “The Leap Between the States” from the show’s fifth season.
During the Civil War, Olivia, the owner of the family’s cotton plantation and slaves, was an abolitionist who hated slavery. Sam jumps into John Beckett and has to win Olivia over or else he will be deleted. Sam had to defend Olivia from the fury of Isaac King, a Covington servant slave and lieutenant Montgomery, a Conferderate officer who hides runaway slaves and helps them travel to the North via the Underground Railroad. Olivia has a hidden sympathy for the cause of runaway slaves, and Sam has to keep Olivia and John together. Olivia was meant to marry John and grow up to be Olivia’s great-grandmother.

In the NCIS Season 1 episode “The Good Samaritan,” McNeil made a cameo appearance as Navy Commander Margaret Green. Later, she played Carol Adams in the NCIS: Los Angeles Season 4 episode Recruit. At the Naval Air Station Oceana’s Base Medical Clinic, Margaret Green is a Commander in the US Navy. In addition to being the mother of the late Marine Gunnery Sergeant David Adams, Carol Adams is the wife of Brian Adams.
McNeil role on Grey’s Anatomy
In the episode “I Am Not Waiting Anymore” from season twelve of Grey’s Anatomy, McNeil portrayed Sue Wagner. Tess Wagner’s mother is Sue Wagner. While rock climbing with her fiancé, Michael, Sue’s daughter Tess suffered an injury after falling more than a hundred feet. After being taken to the emergency room, she was found to have internal injuries in addition to several fractures. She had to have part of her intestine removed during an emergency surgery. But before the procedure could be finished, she started to exhibit symptoms of brain inactivity. While her parents wanted the physicians to do everything in their power to keep her alive, Michael thought she wouldn’t want to live that way. Pamphlets promoting a number of long-term care facilities were handed to them.
