Evasco is the creator of BAKLA SHOW I and II (2007, 2010), which highlight the experiences of queer Filipinos. Named after the word “bakla,” the series features gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer Filipino characters. Evasco produced his own performance, “Queer Diaspora Story,”a literary festival celebrating how immigrants and first/second generation La Pena unapologetically walk their bodies, gender, culture, and sexuality, and cultural history. Evasco has been performing stand-up comedy since 2007. He has performed at the Logan Center for the Arts, the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, and the Fringe Center.
