Karen Disher Biography
Karen Disher is an American film director and storyboard artist. Disher is most recognized for her work with MTV Animation. Disher’s filmography includes Rio (2011), Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009), and Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012).

She was born Karen Beth Disher on 7 August 1972, in the United States of America. Beth is 52 years old as of August 2024.
Karen Education
Disher studied traditional 2D animation at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. After graduating, she worked as a layout artist for MTV Animation’s Beavis and Butthead. She went on to develop the main characters and serve as the supervising director for the blockbuster series Daria.

Disher has been married to her husband Robert Todd Partington, then a supervisor of computer graphics and animation technologies for MTV Networks since 2001.
Karen Career
Discher is also known for his work as an animator at 20th Century Animation’s in-house studio, Blue Sky Studios, where he produced several films, including several Ice Age films. Discher studied 2D animation at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. After graduating, he joined MTV Animation as an artist on the shows “Beavis” and “Butt-head”. He later created the main characters and directed the film “Dalia”. He also directed two series on the series Falling, The Year 2000 and Follow-Up Is College Still Here? He joined Blue Sky Studios in 2002 and has worked as a storyteller on several animated films, including Robots, Ice Age: Meltdown, Horton Hears Who!, and Ferdinand. He also directed the story for “Rio”, and directed the short film “Surviving Sid”, and the TV special “Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas”.
In addition to producing and directing the Ice Age series, he has had minor roles in many of the films he has worked on, most notably Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. In 2018, Discher was invited to directly collaborate on Blue Sky’s first musical, The Fosters, with a script by Discher, director Steve Martino and Tim Fiedler for Dragon Story, and written by Benji Pasek and Justin Paul. The project was cancelled due to Blue Sky’s closure in 2021. Disher joined Spire Animation Studios as creative director in 2021 and is a founding member of the studio’s strategic “Creative Cadre” group.
