Because she received a tape recorder in fourth grade, that’s where she learned how to write and interview people. She attended the University of Pittsburgh. She chose downtown Pittsburgh because she wanted to be close to her family. It’s called Point Park University; it used to be named Point Park College, and she chose it after a recommendation from one of her high school English teachers. She claimed that they offer a strong journalism department, therefore she majored in journalism and communications with a focus on broadcasting. That’s where she got her start in television and broadcasting, followed by an internship at one of Pittsburgh’s local stations.
