He got a part-time position at the legendary KZEW-FM/Dallas-Ft. Worth, where he moved into the afternoon drive slot and set rating records in less than a year. Wells soon quit pursuing a full-time career as a voiceover artist. During that period, he voiced imagery promos for WNEW-FM, Los Angeles’ KLOS-FM and KROQ-FM, Detroit’s WWJ-AM, Chicago’s WBBM-AM/TV, San Francisco’s KRON-TV, Dallas’ WFAA-TV, KRLD-AM and KZPS-FM, Houston’s KLOL-FM, KHOU-TV and KPRC-AM, Miami’s WBGG-FM, and the Wells’ music could be heard on BBC Radio 1 in London, HIT 95 in Berlin, Radio ADO in Paris, and many other stations around the world for nearly a decade.
