Joey Greco Career
He earned a position as a fitness trainer on ESPN’s hip-hop-themed fitness show, Fitness Pros. He took over as host of Cheaters in December 2002, succeeding Tommy Habeeb. Greco was replaced by Clark Gable’s grandson, Clark Gable III, at the start of Season 13 (2012-2013), but returned for the Season 15 finale in 2015. He has also appeared in ads on television.
Greco was purportedly stabbed by a cheating partner when the Cheaters crew boarded the man’s yacht in early 2003; however, on November 3, 2009, the news magazine program Inside Edition questioned Greco’s female companion, who claimed the whole thing was staged. Greco was challenged a week later by Matt Meagher, the program’s investigative reporter.
Greco refused to answer any of Meagher’s inquiries, claiming that he couldn’t legally comment on the allegation. On the same episode, John Ellison of the Rowlett Police Department remarked, “There were no arrests at all during that time period for that type of crime.” Greco, Cheaters’ then-director Hunter Carson, and two security guards were charged for assault by a grand jury in 2005 but acquitted in connection with the ‘confrontations’ on the show.
Greco was added to the show’s credits as a co-producer after the ninth season. Greco starred in, created, and produced Ghostbreakers, a pseudo-reality series, in 2010. Greco appeared in idents and special presentations for the UK TV channel Really, the UK broadcaster of Cheaters, in June 2012.
Greco’s image appeared in The Simpsons episode “Dial ‘N’ for Nerder” in 2007. Seth MacFarlane referred to Greco as “the guy who was on Cheaters, and got stabbed on camera” during his brief monologue at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program. Greco returned to host the fifteenth-season finale of Cheaters for the second case; however, Greco stated on Twitter that the case was one that had never broadcast since 2012. Greco played Mr. Amrak in the 2013 film Charlie: A Toy Story after his stint on Cheaters.
