It’s Not Me It’s Them: Confessions of a Hopeless Modern Romantic, Dommett’s first memoir, was published in 2018. The book covers his love adventures with 40 women before to meeting his now wife, Hannah Cooper, and features a continuing narrative in which he is on his first date with her and recalls the women with whom he had relationships. Dommett appeared in a few minor roles prior to stand-up comedy, including Josh in Teenage Kicks (2008), Jonathon Hansel in Casualty (2004), and Dale in The Golden Hour. Dommett appeared in the Rikki Beadle Blair roles of Bashment and Stonewall in 2005 and 2007, respectively.
He performed his first stand-up show in a Los Angeles bar, and since then, he has done shows in Gravesend, The Netherlands, and Reykjavik. He was a finalist for Stand Up Comedian of the Year and won the Best Newcomer award in 2008. Prior to his appearance on the comedy current affairs show Russell Howard’s Good News in April 2011, he was an unknown comedian. In his appearance, Dommett performed standup towards the finish of the show in the standup segment.
In 2008, he showed up in an element film, The Edge of Adoration, as a train fighter who highlighted momentarily in a scene. Dommett played D.C. Sweeney in a recurring role on E4’s Skins in 2010. He also appeared in all six episodes of Popatron, a BBC Two sitcom produced by Charlie Brooker’s Zeppotron and broadcast under the BBC Switch brand. Starting in 2011, Dommett facilitated Live in Chelsea, a live conversation show spinning around the occasions of the well known unscripted TV drama Made in Chelsea. From 2012 to 2014, Dommett appeared on BBC Three’s first two seasons of Impractical Jokers UK.
Dommett was a team captain on the comedy show Reality Bites, which aired on ITV2 in 2015. He also appeared on the Sky 1 panel show Bring the Noise on a regular basis as a panelist for Nicole Scherzinger’s team. In November 2015, Dommett showed up on a superstar version of The Pursuit. Dommett was cast in the Fulwell 73 movie White Island in 2016, which was based on the book A Bus Could Run You Over by Colin Butt. He played Dexter Ward, the protagonist’s friend and DJ who is arrested for drug possession in Ibiza. The movie didn’t do well on the box office.
Dommett co-hosted I’m a Celebrity: From November 2017 to December 2019, Additional Camp on ITV2. The aftershow was cancelled in January 2020 because filming it became too expensive.
Dommett began hosting ITV2’s quiz show Hey Tracey with Donna Preston, who plays the computer-generated character of Tracey, and Singletown with Emily Atack in 2019. Singletown just endured one series though it has not been declared whether Hello Tracey would have a third series following its second recorded during the Coronavirus pandemic.
On 9 September 2019, Dommett was declared as the moderator for ITV’s The Concealed Artist, the UK rendition of the global music game show Veiled Vocalist, which started broadcasting on 4 January 2020. The sister show, The Masked Dancer, which debuted in May 2021, is also hosted by Dommett.
Dommett was scheduled to tour the UK in 2020 with his album Unapologetic: Assuming That Is Not a problem?) stand-up parody visit, albeit that was deferred to 2021 to 2022 assuming no further limitations are forced. Before a nationwide lockdown was imposed in March, only a few shows were performed in February and the beginning of March; the show has the subject of Dommett being recently hitched and his newly discovered early evening TV introducing jobs.
Dommett was the host of the 2021 National Television Awards ceremony on September 9, 2021. He was on the long list for the award for best presenter, but he didn’t make it to the short list. He was confirmed to host the revival of Survivor on the BBC in February 2023.
