Joe Mande is an American stand-up comedian, writer, and actor. He is a producer and writer best known for Hacks (2021), The Good Place (2016), and Parks and Recreation (2009). Mande wrote for the final three seasons of NBC’s sitcom Parks and Recreation and appeared in seven episodes as Pawnee resident Morris Lerpiss.

Early in his career, Joe Mande remembers his father asking “Is he a hipster? Is he a cultural phenomenon?” mentioned in newspapers, magazines, blogs. He founded the website Look That Damn Hipster (LATFH.com) in April 2009 to help answer the question. etc. It was turned into a book, called “Look at the Damn Hipster.” Mande has appeared on television shows such as Comedy Central’s The Half Hour, VH1’s The Weeknd and Conan.

Mande appeared as a writer on the final three seasons of the NBC comedy series Parks and Recreation and also portrayed Pawnee resident Morris Leppiss in seven episodes. He also wrote for the Comedy Central comedy series The Kroll Show and the Adult Swim series Lost. He played the character Todd in the first season of Aziz Ansari’s Netflix series Master of none and in James Franco’s film Disaster Artist. He also writes for the NBC sitcom “The Good Place,” created by “Parks and Recreation” co-creator Mike Schur. In 2017, Mander released a Netflix comedy special called Joe Mander’s Award-Winning Comedy Special.

Mande released her first single titled “Bitchface” on March 14, 2014. The mixtape-style album features vocals by Fabolous, Roy Hibbert, Jenny Slate, Nick Kroll, Aziz Ansari, The RZA and Amy Poehler. From 2021 to 2024, Mander worked as a producer/consulting producer on the Max series “Hacks.” Mander is known for using Twitter to attack celebrities and businesses and then posting a note on his Twitter account stating that he would no longer use that account. He said he bought many of his followers. Mande frequently tweeted that he wanted to be a spokesperson for La Croix Sparkling Water, which led La Croix Sparkling Water to issue a cease and desist letter. In 2011, he feuded with former NBA player Gilbert Arenas after he removed years of allegedly sexist tweets. In 2017, he faced accusations that he was misusing his platform to encourage cyberbullying after tweeting that “Barron Trump will maim a cat on the White House lawn in two weeks.”
