Jill Susan Dobson is an American journalist and a previous winner of beauty pageants. Since early 2016, she has covered entertainment for the Associated Press. She also contributes to HLN and CBS’s The Early Show.

Career

After graduation, she interned at Fox News in the Fall of 2001, starting on September 7, 2001 and interviewed rescue workers at Ground Zero in the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001. Dobson started her work as a general assignment reporter at WLNS (CBS) in Lansing, Michigan. Dobson was employed by Kalamazoo’s WWMT Channel 3 from June 2002 to April 2004. She relocated to New York in 2004, where she worked as a correspondent for News 12 Long Island, among other publications. In July 2004, she worked as a freelance correspondent for E! News as well. Dobson joined Star magazine as News & Style Editor at Large in June 2006, serving as the publication’s television face. In July 2007, Dobson started working as an entertainment correspondent for Fox News.

She was a regular correspondent for Fox News prime time talk shows, such as Hannity and Colmes, Hannity, and the O’Reilly Factor, Fox morning show Fox & Friends, and Fox shows like The Live Desk. She has also covered a number of red carpet events, including the renowned Los Angeles Oscars. She was the host of the “Entertainment Hour” from Monday through Friday following the launch of the Strategy Room web programming. Dobson’s contract with Fox ended on July 16, 2010. Dobson described her reason for wanting to quit Fox News as the network’s shift away from entertainment reporting and the accompanying decrease in screen time. She guest-hosted the June 18, 2010 episode of Fox’s late-night satirical program Red Eye, where she is still a frequent commentator. Dobson debuted on the Onion News Network, as entertainment journalist Madison Daly, on January 21, 2011, at 9:00 p.m. CST on IFC.

She won the Miss Michigan USA 2000 title in 1999 and competed in the Miss USA 2000 pageant, where she placed in the top ten.
