Capshaw began her film career in 1997 with the film ‘The Locusts,’ in which she played Patsy aka Delilah Ashford Potts. Despite being her debut film, Capshaw’s inherent acting talent was explored as she played the character of an elderly woman who was a charmer and lured young men. She appeared in the romantic comedy ‘The Love Letter’ in 1999. In the same year, she made her television debut as Sally McKenna in ‘ER’. She starred as Aunt Jordan in the ABC Network series ‘Odd Man Out’ from 1999 to 2000. Jessica appeared in thirteen episodes of the sitcom. She also appeared in ‘The Back Page,’ a television film.
