In the Season Three episode of Quantum Leap titled “Last Dance Before An Execution,” she played Florida Assistant District Attorney Margerita Lorrea Tearsa, who defends convicted murderer and death row inmate Jesus Ortega, whom Dr. Samuel Beckett leaps into to try to save his life and that of fellow inmate Raul Casta, who was convicted with him in the death of a Catholic parish priest in 1971.

Sam jumps into the bodies of convicted Cuban felon Jesus Ortega (Stephen Domingas) and fellow immigrant Raul Casta (James Sloyan) to clear their names. Theodore Moody, the DA for whom Margerita works, is running for governor and has arranged for all five death row inmates to attend. Tearsa is discovered assisting Jesus and Raul, but Sam tries to keep her from being discovered while assisting himself. Margerita believes Jesus’ story and is eager to assist him in proving his innocence. Sam persuades Tearsa to return to the church and find the missing bullet, proving that Jesus’ gun shot and killed the priest. Al persuades Sam to confess on Jesus’ behalf, and Margerita contacts a witness who was with Raul at the time the priest was killed. The DA threatens Tearsa’s legal career.
