Ashton, a board-certified obstetrician, and gynecologist completed her residency at New York’s St. Luke’s–Roosevelt Hospital Center. She has worked as an attending physician at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, a Mount Sinai Medical Center affiliate in Englewood, New Jersey, and is now in private practice.
Ashton has written numerous magazine articles and contributed to The Record of Bergen, New Jersey’s health blog. She has also written three books: The Body Scoop for Girls (2009), which educates adolescent girls about puberty; Your Body Beautiful in 2012, which addresses health and wellness issues in middle-aged women; and Eat This When You’re Expecting, Not That in 2016, which outlines a diet designed specifically for pregnant women.
Ashton began her television career in 2006 as the Fox News Channel’s first female medical contributor.
